Mike W. Peng

Mike W. Peng (PhD, University of Washington) is a distinguished scholar in the field of global strategy and international business, with a focus on emerging markets. He is the Jindal Chair of Global Strategy and Executive Director of the Center for Global Business, Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas


He is President of the Asia Academy of Management (AAOM), where he is a Fellow. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of International Business (AIB) and a National Science Foundation (NSF) Career Award winner. He has served as a visiting professor in Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Hong Kong, Mexico, and Vietnam; and has lectured around the world.


Peng has published over 180 articles, including 70 in Financial Times top journals. His three market-leading textbooks, Global Business, Global Strategy, and Global, have been translated in Chinese, Portuguese, and Spanish; and adapted for the Europe/EMEA and India/South Asia markets. He has more than 65,000 Google citations and an H-index of 101. As of September 1, 2024, he is ranked #1, #3, and #8 in the world, respectively, in the fields of global strategy, international business, and strategic management, according to Google Scholar citations.


Peng is also an active consultant. His clients include multinational enterprises (such as AstraZeneca, Berlitz, Ericsson, Nationwide, SAFRAN, and Texas Instruments), educational and funding organizations (such as Canada Research Chair and Hong Kong Research Grants Council), and governmental and international organizations (such as the UK Government Office for Science and World Bank).
